Why IVORAH exists.

IVORAH started with a renovation of our founder's own house — and with the discovery that the hardest part was not the work.
Finding the right people, sourcing the right materials and understanding what happens next took more of my time and money than the renovation itself. IVORAH is the version of that I wished had existed.Sam Narayanan, Founder
There was a second thing. The homes he walked through had the same floor plan, the same furniture and the same lighting as each other. It looks fine at first. Then it looks like nobody in particular lives there. A home should reflect the person who owns it, rather than the owner fitting themselves into a design somebody else made.
Sam has spent over 25 years across interior design, remodeling and supply chain technology — including years helping large companies take complicated processes apart and put accountability back into them, end to end. That is the part of his background that shows up most in how IVORAH runs a project.
Travel through Europe, Asia and Mexico introduced him to the makers themselves: the workshops that cut the stone, weld the stairs and make the cabinetry. Those relationships are now IVORAH's supply line — cabinetry, hardware and doors; tile and natural stone; stone-carved bathtubs; lighting and large-scale glass — bought direct, without a middleman between the maker and your house.
He has lived in the Memphis area for 20 years and in Collierville for the last 12, which is where IVORAH is based.

Truth
We publish what things cost, how long they take, and what we don't do. If IVORAH isn't the right fit for your project, we say so on the first call, before you have paid us anything.
Craft
We buy from the workshops that actually make the thing — cabinetry, doors, stairs, stone, glass — to our own production drawings, and we check it on the factory floor before it ships.
The promise, tested
What a promise costs when it goes wrong.
Every company says it stands behind its price. Here is the one time we had to prove it.
Midway through a whole-main-level project in Germantown, import tariffs on the order jumped to 55% — and the client had a hard deadline. We had promised the price would not change, so it did not. We absorbed the tariff, paid three times the normal freight for an 18-day expedited shipment, and delivered on time.
The job earned us no profit and one very happy client. It taught us exactly what “Built on a Promise” costs. We would pay it again.

How we work
We are consultants, not order-takers.
We start with the problem — how you live, and what the house will not let you do — and design the solution. Materials and price are fixed before you confirm. Then six steps, every one of them with a number attached.

Visualize
We walk your home, measure, and photograph. Then you see the design before it exists: a 2D floor plan and 3D views of your actual rooms.

Organize
Materials and colors finalized with you — direct-sourced stone, tile, and custom cabinetry — then one fully scoped estimate. When you approve it, that price is the promise.
Fixed quote · 50% confirms - R.
Refine
Our install crew re-measures to the millimeter; suppliers produce production drawings; we re-measure on site. Change anything until you approve them — then the design locks.
Production drawings · design lock - A.
Assemble
Materials go into production with our makers and ship. Licensed, vetted contractors build under your project manager, permits and inspections handled.
Up to 90 days make & ship · 30–45 days install - H.
Handover
Punch list complete, rooms styled, and a final walkthrough room by room. The last payment is due only after you've approved the finished work.

Scope
What we do — and what we don't.
The second list matters more than the first. It is how you tell a company that knows its own edges from one that will find them mid-project.
We do this
- Interior design for kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, media rooms, game rooms and garages
- Whole-home renovation, phased so you can live in the house while it happens
- Custom cabinetry and millwork, drawn here and made to those drawings
- Doors, windows, staircases, railings, tile, natural stone, lighting and large-scale glass — sourced direct from the makers
- Finishes — painting, wall paneling, flooring — and fixtures throughout
- Home automation, designed into the project rather than added to it afterwards
- One project manager, one schedule and one number to call, from the first call to handover
We don't do this
- We are not the construction company. Licensed contractors we vet — licence checks, visits to their past job sites, conversations with the homeowners — do the installation, under one IVORAH project manager.
- Permits are coordinated through the appropriately licensed permit holder on the job.
- We don't do roofing, or anything on the outside of the house. If it is interior, we can handle it.
- Electrical, plumbing and HVAC are never sold on their own. They happen inside a project, done by the licensed trade, under their licence.
- We don't manufacture. We buy from the workshops that do, to our drawings, and we check the work before it ships.
- We don't quote a price we intend to revisit. The Germantown job above is what that costs when it goes wrong.

IVORAH is based in Collierville, Tennessee and works across greater Memphis — Collierville, Germantown, Memphis and the towns between them. We work in occupied homes and in new construction, and we phase whole-home projects so you can keep living in the house.
