Germantown Kitchen & Living
A full kitchen remodel in Germantown, TN — the kitchen and adjoining living room opened up and rebuilt as one continuous space.
The kitchen was closed off from the living room by a white-painted brick wall with three arches. We took the wall out, carried the opening on a single beam, and rebuilt the two rooms as one continuous space.
Dark hardwood gave way to large-format tile throughout. The black granite and heavy glazed cabinetry were replaced with a stone island and a quieter palette, and the living side was anchored with a new cast-stone fireplace surround and built-in shelving. Because this family entertains often, we added a second sink at the window and a second dishwasher.
The staircase, hidden behind masonry before, now reads as part of the room.
